Hmmm... I've been thinking that I should maybe start moderating comments.
I don't want to discourage people from commenting but at the same time I'm starting to get a fair bit of spam (which I think also discourages people from commenting if I'm not fast enough at removing it.)
What say you internet folks?

i think i know what you're talking about. are you talking about that really weird comment thats in all japanese? yeah...moderate.
I've noticed that weird spam on a lot of blogger blogs. If it's easier for you, just moderate. I don't see it as discouragement at all. On my wordpress blog, there's a function that lets you moderate every "first" comment from a new person. After that first approval, comments are automatically posted.
Uh! Just got a couple more spam messages! Last straw! I'm moderating!
